I am so incredibly thankful for the USA and for the freedom we are able to experience here each and every day. I am going to be celebrating the fourth with my family at Universal Studios! There are SO many fun activities out there, but if you need a little inspiration on how to make your 4th of July extra fun and special for your family then keep reading!

Create homemade thank you cards for service members. This is not only fun for the kids, but it also teaches them the importance of why we as Americans celebrate the 4th of July. If you have friends or family that are serving or have served in the military then spend some time with your kids creating and decorating handmade thank you cards for them. Our soldiers deserve SO much gratitude for the sacrifices they have made for America. A little note of thanks will go a long way in showing them just how loved and appreciated they are!
DIY some patriotic outfits. You can absolutely pick up some fun patriotic clothing at the store, but better yet, try creating some fun DIY outfits at home with your kiddos. Pick out some solid colored t-shirts/hats/shorts, a little paint, some glitter, fun iron-on designs, and get creative! Not only will your kids have a blast in the process, but you will end up with some pretty amazing 4th of July outfits!
Play some yard games. Set aside the electronics for an afternoon and get outside for some family fun in the sun! Baseball, bean bag toss, scavenger hunt, water balloon fight, relay race, hide and seek…there are TONS of exciting activities to keep your kids interested and spending time having fun outdoors with mom and dad.
Make 4th of July themed snacks. There are so many 4th of July snack ideas out there! Just take a few minutes to search on Pinterest and you will have a whole list of fun things to make. Have your kids pick their favorite options and then spend some time together in the kitchen creating yummy red, white, and blue treats!
Create an outdoor movie theatre. If you can get your hands on a projector than this idea is a must try. It’s SUPER easy to create an outdoor theatre! Have your kids pick out a movie and then grab some blankets, pillows, glow sticks, popcorn, patriotic snacks, and head to the backyard for a movie night under the stars!

If you’re looking for some fun, kid-friendly activities then give some of these ideas a try.
Disconnect from the stress of everyday life and focus on the privilege it is to celebrate the 4th of July with the people you love. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
